Our IT Audit department is responsible for auditing Liberty Mutual Group's internal control systems as well as supplementing the work of our external auditors, acting as independent consultants to operating managers, and investigating matters of dishonesty and fraud. You will assist management by performing risk assessments and evaluating critical business processes. As part of our team environment, you will complete audit steps using our customized IT audit approach and electronic work paper system. Key responsibilities include interviewing personnel, performing testwork, analyzing results, and communicating audit issues. You will participate in a six month co-op program specializing in helping you to develop a broad knowledge base in cybersecurity and how it is used within the insurance industry. You will collaborate on project teams that conduct independent assessments of Liberty Mutual's information systems, IT infrastructure, and IT internal control environment through the execution of risk analysis, control evaluation, and innovative audit testing procedures and techniques. This position will assist IT Internal Audit in developing next-gen cyber security and cloud security analysis, testing, and continuous monitoring processes to evaluate Liberty Mutual's cloud and cybersecurity control environments.Our goal is to provide you with a positive experience, filled with "real-world" projects that provide you with the opportunity to contribute through challenging work.

    This co-op will also allow you to explore Liberty Mutual as a possible full time employer. During your co-op, you will receive all the tools you need to be successful - this includes on-the-job training, a mentor from the team, meaningful work and management support. You will also participate in educational and social programs that will accelerate your development, as well as an online community of interns that will provide a collegial environment to help with your transition from school to work.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in the auditing of new and existing information system applications and operating environments.
    • Participate on audit project teams to complete risk assessments and control evaluations for IT areas under review.
    • Use company and audit software to analyze data, set audit scopes and complete testwork.
    • Communicate audit findings in meetings and formal reports.
    • Assist in the interpretation and communication of information to management.
  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Undergraduate working towards a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3.3 cumulative GPA
    • Must have permanent work authorization in the United States
    • 0-2 years of professional experience
    • Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or equivalent major
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and leadership skills
    • Attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
    • Basic knowledge of IT cyber security principles and practices, strategies and methodologies
    • Exposure to developing cloud-hosted, security automation using JavaScript, or Python
    • Basic knowledge of network security engineering and administration concepts
    • Basic knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery process and tools, testing frameworks and practices
    • Basic understanding of cloud networking concepts and various network security controls including firewalls, IDPS and proxy
    • Exposure to AWS, Azure and cloud orchestration tools
