    Description

    A Data Analytics Intern will be responsible for to assist Central Region Medicare with local market analysis to drive strategies and financial performance

    How you will make an impact:

    • Developing advanced analytic dashboards for operational reporting to provide the business with the ability to make data driven decisions

    • Performing established analysis for routine diagnoses of quality, use, cost, and other variables for opportunity assessments

    • Executing identification and stratification algorithm to select the right members for the targeted solution

    • Developing the technical definition of outcome metrics to assess outcomes

    • Performing defined analyses to assess proper outcome metrics for various programs/initiative

    • Building, testing, and validating statistical models under supervision

    • Contributing to research and publications by performing basic analyses, preparing data, and documenting results.  Understands the pitfalls and limitations with analyzing practical data and the ability to ensure data and analysis quality

    • Ensuring that data are maintained in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures, including with respect to confidentiality, data protection and information security.

    • Interfacing with business leaders, senior leadership, legal, compliance, technology, data, and financial groups as needed.

    • Querying various data sources

    • Leveraging existing datasets

    • Creating, transforming, and cleansing datasets

    • Data Modeling

    • Calculating baselines and KPIs

    • Statistical Analysis

    • Predictive Modeling

    • User-Friendly Report Interfaces

    • Responding to data requests

    • Attending Department Meetings

    • Presenting and/or demoing analysis to business owners

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics at an accredited college/university

    • Ability to work 40 hours during the duration of the summer internship program

    • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

    Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

    • Basic knowledge of common analytical methods such as profiling a customer segment, experimental design, and regression analysis.

    • Solves well defined analytical problems independently

    • Delivers assignment/projects timely and accurately

    • Collaborates with other analytical team members effectively

    • Presents analyses effectively to analytical audience

    • Possess strong intellectual curiosity and motivated to master analytical skills.
