The Innovation Team at Anthem is leading the reinvention of healthcare by identifying, incubating, and implementing valuable solutions to deliver impact at scale and improve the health of the over 40 million members Anthem serves. Our team within Anthem Digital, is closely affiliated with Anthem’s Enterprise Strategy Group and engages with stakeholders at every level, internally and externally, to infuse innovative solutions, ideas, behaviors, and processes across the organization.

As an MBA Intern at Anthem Innovation, you will engage at a strategic level but will also have exposure to the broad range of the Innovation portfolio and the opportunity to make significant contributions to impactful work.

You will be working alongside our Innovation Leaders to deliver thoughtful, well-executed, and effective creative materials and design thinking artifacts. Responsibilities will be tailored to your skillset but may include some, or all, of leveraging design thinking, ideation facilitation, concept creation, creative brief presentation, visual design, user experience design, journey mapping.

This is a full-time (up to 40 hour per week) internship during the Summer with a competitive hourly rate for someone who seeks to contribute to solutions that modernize and digitize healthcare for a Fortune 30 company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships to drive results.

• Prioritize and execute assigned projects and responsibilities.

• Work effectively across a matrixed, cross-functional structure, and collaborate with a high-performance team.

SKILLS NEEDED TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE:

• Ability to work independently with a focus on execution and delivery.

• Excellent communication with an eye for detail, an ear for important items, and a focus on the concise and accurate delivery of key messages across emails, spreadsheets, presentations, meetings, and reports.  

• Strategic mindset and the ability to see and act within the bigger picture.

• Excellent business judgment and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done.

• Strong cross-functional communication to ensure all technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Comfort with ambiguity and agility in learning complex concepts.

• Capability to analyze data and strategy, financial modeling and valuation skills preferred.

• Project management skills, including self-organization, time management, and risk management.

• Ability to effectively learn from, collaborate, and win the respect of your peers and stakeholders.

• Demonstrated results with progressively increasing responsibilities and proven ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and work virtually.

• Genuine interest and excitement in applying innovative solutions to improving the health of humanity.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience in a relevant field in creative services, marketing, design, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

• Graduation date between May 2023 to May 2024.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc. and with creative tools (Adobe Suite).  

• GPA of 3.0 or above

• Must be available to participate in the intern program from June to August
