The Star Quality Rating system is a 5-point rating system that demonstrates the quality performance of health plans in ensuring members are receiving the right care, at the right time with the right experience.
Star Ratings are critical to our business growth and stabilization in Medicare. However, Star measures, weights, and performance thresholds change regularly, and require diligent planning and preparation to ensure readiness for our organization to deliver results.
An intern is being requested to support the Corporate Star Team in reviewing, researching, planning and designing programming to support our readiness in these new measure areas.
The Intern will be fully integrated within the Corporate Star team, contributing to discovery, planning and program development on newer Star quality measures that are being considered and proposed for Medicare Advantage members.
Primary responsibilities include supporting:
Review and provide insight into quality measures that are anticipated within the Medicare market
Provide industry research on opportunities to improve measure performance with recommended actions and strategies
Prepares strategic analyses and recommendations to help develop long-term strategies and evaluate new business initiatives
Prepares business plans in conjunction with divisional management, assessing industry trends and competitive dynamics, and developing strategic company and industry overviews
Formulates presentations to share findings and recommendations for senior management critical to the decision-making process
Communicates findings and makes recommendations on issues under review
