The HEALTH PLAN OPERATIONS INTERN will be responsible for contributing to health plan operations related projects and process improvement initiatives.

 Primary responsibilities include supporting the following projects:

OPERATIONS + PROVIDER REPS PARTNERSHIP PROJECT:

• Our intern will meet with a sample of provider rep team members to identify best practices, areas of opportunity, trends from an operations standpoint. Activities to include interviews, shadowing, reviewing process instructions, etc.

Key project deliverable(s):

• A completed assessment identifying a summary of provider experiences (positives, negatives, pain points, inefficiencies, etc.), areas of Opportunities between provider relations and operations team and internal/external roadblocks to success

PROVIDER DATA GOVERNANCE DASHBOARD PROJECT:

• Partner with Operations Process Improvement Manager to develop an internal dashboard to track key provider data related metrics. Additionally, the intern will analyze and assess current metric outputs to identify opportunities

Key project deliverable(s):

• A completed dashboard

• A completed assessment identifying potential solutions

AD HOC OPERATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:

• The intern will have exposure to projects at all levels (e.g. front line staff, management and executives)

• Dedicated weekly mentorship sessions with Operations Leadership

• Opportunity to participate in various internal and external meetings with a wide variety of healthcare operational topics

• Opportunity to contribute to departmental operational assignments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Pursuing a degree in Business, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Health, Heathcare Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or other related degrees

• This internship is from June 6th to August 12th and is 40 hours per week/or 20 hours per week depending on school schedule in a virtual setting

• Must be enrolled fulltime at an accredited college or university during internship

• Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Presentation Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Required (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

• Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint preferred, but not required)

• Experience with SQL preferred, but not required
