Title: IngenioRx Intern- Pharmacy Prior Authorizations Review

Location: Mason, Ohio

Structure: Remote

The PHARMACY INTERN will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.

Primaary duties may include but are not limited to:

• Both production work and also projects.

• Production:  This is primary responsibility.  Assist our pharmacists and Medical Directors with prior authorization requests. Including but not limited to reviewing incoming faxes from prescribers and entering them into the system, analyzing chart notes that are provided and checking prescription claims, and writing a summary of a case to provide to a pharmacist or physician who will then make a final decision.

  • Example:  if a request is for Celebrex and we need to determine if a patient has tried a NSAID previously.

• Projects: Help pharmacists in researching drugs with similar therapeutic class. Help with system testing to ensure new business is implemented successfully.

• Utilizing to assist the pharmacists in their jobs.

• Other job functions depending on the business needs all within a level of an intern.

QUALIFICATIONS

Student Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university 

• 1st year PharmD students (anticipated graduation date 2026) preferred

• Requires an active, unrestricted Intern License (Ohio)

• Prior experience working in pharmacy retail strongly preferred

• Must be able to work in our Mason, OH office throughout the duration of the internship 

• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week

• Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements
