    A day in the life of a Business Insights Intern might include:

    • Prepare large dataset for visualization.
    • Visual data into dashboards and reports using Integrated Reporting standards as a guide.
    • Demonstrating willingness to be engaged and try new things
    • Participating in department and company meetings
    • Applying appropriate quantitative techniques and methods to help resolve business problems.
    • Performing other duties as assigned

    Our Team

    The P&C Integrated Reporting team builds dashboards and reports for the P&C organization. We work closely with business leaders to understand their needs and create visualizations, allowing data driven decisions. We work closely with other data professional groups within Nationwide, collaborating on moving data through the pipeline to make it available for reporting and analysis.

  • Qualifications

    A successful PC IR Intern at Nationwide has:

    • Education
    • Undergraduate studies in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Math, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field of study
    • Completion of sophomore or junior year is preferred
    • Involvement in student activities and/or some work experience
    • 3.0 GPA or higher is desired

    Skills/Competencies

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external contacts
    • Working knowledge of Excel and/or Tableau, PowerBI, etc
    • Ability to code using SQL or Python
    • Natural curiosity and ability to ask probing questions
    • Knowledge of statistical analysis
    • Ability to excel in a dynamic, changing and sometimes ambiguous environment
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
    • Natural curiosity to explore and question
    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; SQL or Tableau is preferred
