    Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin operates Medicaid Managed Care services in the state of Wisconsin for BadgerCare Plus and Medicaid SSI members.

    The Health Plan serves over 120K Medicaid members throughout Wisconsin. 

    INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

    The WI Medicaid Health Plan is interested in welcoming an intern to our Case Management Team to focus on member and community engagement.  

    Responsibilities

    • Outreach members telephonically related to NCQA, HEDIS and other specific health campaigns (for example: immunizations, breast cancer screening, controlling high blood pressure, etc.)
    • Assist member in scheduling appointment with Primary Care or other provider.
    • Assist member in coordinating transportation to appointment as needed.
    • Encourages the members to participate in the Case Management programs by providing information about the program, outlining program features and explaining available services.
    • Make connections between member and their Anthem case manager.
    • Document contacts in electronic medical records
    • Participate in weekly consultation rounds
    • Participate in team meetings.
  • Qualifications
    • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a preferred winter 2021 / spring 2022 graduation date. Rising Juniors and Seniors
    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Be motivated and willing to learn with strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
    • Skilled at working collaboratively, developing creative solutions, and accomplishing team goals.
    • Have proficiency with Microsoft Windows software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
    • Student of nursing, social work, counseling, public health, or related field.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Member-focused and service-orientated mindset
    • Passion for improving health and social issues that impact our communities.
