Marketing Leadership Rotation Program - Associate
If you’re passionate about becoming a Nationwide associate and believe you have the potential to be something great, let’s talk.
Job Description Summary
Are you driven to lead, improve your management skills and take on greater challenges while helping an organization achieve key business goals? Our Marketing Leadership Rotation Program (MLRP) offers strategic developmental rotation assignments in key business segments where you’ll be evaluated on your technical, strategic and leadership abilities. If you are eager to learn and grow and want to earn professional experience now, we want to hear from you!
As an Associate in the program, you'll develop and enhance business and leadership skills by completing customized assignments designed and prioritized by the top Marketing leaders across the enterprise.
Program Features:
Tailored Orientation: The program begins with an extensive orientation period that is personally customized to prepare associates for success in Marketing.
Mentoring and Coaching: Executive mentors from our marketing leadership team provide one-on-one leadership development and career advice throughout the duration of the program and beyond. Coaching and feedback is a cornerstone of the Nationwide culture and is provided before, during and after each rotation assignment.
Meaningful Assignments: Associates are placed in high-impact, high profile assignments designed to assess a participant and help them develop leadership and technical skills.
Continuous Learning: Curriculum specifically designed to enhance technical skills, communication/presentation skills and develop leadership capabilities.
Professional Networking: Associates take part in one-on-one meetings with Marketing leaders. Additional networking opportunities will provide associates exposure to senior executives and leaders from across the organization to gain knowledge and relationships beyond Marketing.
Reporting Relationships: Reporting relationships will be determined based on the needs of the program.
Rotational Program Staffing:
Rotational, program-based staffing is a temporary (typically two years) job assignment. The limited life of this assignment distinguishes a "program" position from most other positions. Because of the temporary status of the project job, the need for specific skills and a fair administration of compensation for program associates, program jobs are not banded to a particular salary grade range.
Individuals hired would receive a starting salary based on their offer letter. In some cases, there may be an opportunity to receive a placement bonus. Associates in the rotational program would be eligible for an annual base salary adjustment, based on performance, during the normal merit increase review process as well as a short-term incentive annual bonus based on business unit. Performance evaluations will be conducted as they would on any job as appropriate.
Prior to the end of the assignment, Human Resources will be notified by the program leader, and will assist the rotational program associate for a period of 60 calendar days, if qualified, in the search for another position. The success of the associate in securing a position is contingent upon prior related work experience, satisfactory performance in the program and the availability of open positions matching the associate's skills and experience. The associate is expected to compete for positions with other Nationwide associates and/or external applicants. There is no guarantee that the associate leaving the program will secure another position. Approval by the department head is required for extensions to the 60-day time frame.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree with a concentration in marketing, communications or strategy strongly preferred, with a solid academic achievement.
Experience: Minimum of one internship related to marketing, advertising, etc.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated leadership, communication and analytical skills. Proven ability to think critically and strategically. Strong commitment to learning and teamwork.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above require approval of the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
Values: Regularly and consistently demonstrates Nationwide Values.
Job Conditions:
Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt)
Working Conditions: Normal office environment; non-standard and/or extended hours and or weekends as assignments necessitate; occasional travel; ability to relocate to Columbus, Ohio, required for initial hire.
ADA: The above statements cover what are generally believed to be principal and essential functions of this job. Specific circumstances may allow or require some people assigned to the job to perform a somewhat different combination of duties.
