OVERVIEW

As a National Claims Intern, you will gain an understanding of our National Claims Operations. You will learn how to deal with clients during a disaster, organize disaster responses and develop an understanding of insurance coverages. You will build valuable skills while working with a fast-paced team and develop time management and organizational strategies.

This is an in-person/office internship that will take place in Summer 2023.

Pay Rate: $17 an hour

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• An excellent candidate is someone who is professional, adaptable, and congenial with an inquisitive personality and strong critical thinking skills.

• You should know how to take initiative but also know how to work in a team as a dependable member.

• Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for analysis and explanation of large data.

NATIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the designing, conducting, and reporting of the AP National Claim Structure.

• Assist in the review and analysis of the National Claim Response utilizing project management skills through the suite of Microsoft products and smart sheets.

• Utilize company metrics to assist with improving operational efficiencies.

• Assist in updating pieces of AP National Business Continuity Plan.

• Support Claim Presentations for Senior Leadership and internal claim usage.

• Utilize organizational skills to gain efficiencies throughout the AP Claim Team

• Understand and assist in the onboarding new acquisition claim teams.

• Any other projects and related tasks as needed and assigned

• Assist in marketing the claim tools both internal and external

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be enrolled and in good standing at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university. Degree program concentrating in Business, Loss Control, and/or Marketing a plus.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents, and a high capacity for learning is critical.

• Effectively utilize available and relevant technical tools and resources (e.g. Microsoft Office and Excel).

• Must be willing to travel.

COMPENSATION

• This is a paid internship at $17.00 a hour.
