    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Nationwide Brokerage Solutions (NBS) exists to solve problems for independent agents - helping them grow their business and protect their customers’ futures by providing access to solutions across all lines in the P&C market including complex and hard to place risks.

    This organization provides a full-service Operations team which supports our $700M brokerage agency. Within operations, the team handles accounting and finance (including billing, premium finance, accounts receivable and collections), project/program management, lean process evaluations, business insights & analytics, digital sales technology, support services, compliance, and commission processing.

    Due to business changes over the past few years, NBS has a great opportunity for growth and profitability. In order for us to do this successfully, we will need to focus on the customer experience, technology and new capabilities when working with our customers, agents and insurance carriers. This is an exciting time to be part of NBS and we are looking for talented individuals to be part of our success.

    INTERNSHIP ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    During your 10-12 weeks at Nationwide, the NBS Summer intern will receive meaningful assignments from a variety of teams across NBS Operations, providing them the opportunity to develop their business administration skills and business acumen needed to succeed in a corporate environment.

    Assignments will come from several areas, including accounting and finance (including billing, premium finance, accounts receivable and collections), project/program management, lean process evaluations, business insights & analytics, digital sales technology, support services, compliance, and commission processing

    Ideal candidates for the Summer Internship Program are high academic performers (top 30%) with a demonstrated ability to think critically, strategically, and creatively and a strong commitment to learning and teamwork.

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

    EDUCATION

    • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Insurance, Business Management or a related field of study

    • Completion of sophomore or junior year is preferred

    • Involvement in student activities and/or some work experience

    • 3.5 GPA or higher is desired

    SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

    • Exposure to business management/operations concepts

    • Problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to recognize problems, determine appropriate actions, implement solutions, and use judgement when appropriate

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of internal contacts

    • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment

    • Desire to use technologies such as robotics, RPA, AI, or machine learning in order reduce manual work

    • Natural curiosity to explore and question

    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, SQL or Tableau is preferred

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    This role will be a work from home position with the option to come into the Columbus, Ohio office.
