    The PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT INTERN will support research around the development of products/capabilities and develop a solid understanding of the business plans, products, and services by supporting the sales team with organizational efforts and Anthem’s growth priorities

    Primary duties to include, but not limited to:

    • Support development of new products and programs targeting publicly funded behavioral health service delivery across California’s counties
    • Investigate current data sharing processes for criminal justice and behavioral health linkage programs across California and Washington State
    • Review recent waivers submitted by other states to summarize innovations in behavioral health service delivery
    • Create an inventory of programs and services across California Counties that corresponds to potential market size_ _Summarize system capacity and financing models for county-level crisis hotlines and system coordination
    • Summarize how the State-contracted fiscal intermediary works with counties to process treatment authorization requests and summarize opportunities for increased efficiencies

    Specific functions for this role: strategy conceptualization, alignment, and execution, competitive intelligence, communication, collaboration within a highly matrixed organization, project management, discretion

  • Qualifications
    • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health or Public Policy.
    • Advance computer skills, with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel.  
    • Highly proficient in analytics, communication, leadership, and presentations. 
    • Project management experience preferred
    • Basic understanding of publicly funded health care programs, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
    • Must be available to work a 40-hour workweek for 10-12 weeks summer 2021
    • The internship will be remote but the location on the West Coast strongly preferred
