The PROVIDER SOLUTIONS ORGANIZATION (PSO) team is responsible for the managing and strengthening the overall relationship with all network participating providers that support the members enrolled in our Programs. The PSO team is accountable for; (1) negotiating and implementing provider contracts to ensure a compliant and competitive provider network, (2) day-to-day education, root cause analysis and problem-resolution, and relationship management with participating providers as it relates to providers’ interaction with the health plan, (3) collaborating with other health plan leadership, departmental teams, and providers to ensure the most cost effective delivery of healthcare services, and (4) engaging providers to transform the provider experience and healthcare delivery through impactful improvements in the way we support, connect, and collaborate with providers, focusing on reduced administrative costs and improved quality healthcare outcomes through alternative payment methodologies and value-based agreements. 

Primary responsibilities include supporting PSO team members to:

• Assist in documentation of workflow and information provided
• Recommend improvements in the efficiency of work processes
• Add enhancements to improve the value of the data we provide
• Provide ad-hoc analysis on provider data as needed
• Update information on Team SharePoint sites as needed
• Outreach to providers to obtain required materials, if needed
• Provider data processing
• Perform other functions as requested

Examples of projects for this role: 

• Provider contracting efforts to support continued development of the Provider network
• Research/reconciliation of provider data to ensure accuracy in claims payments & provider directory
• Participate in outreach efforts to educate providers on tools for updating demographic information and drive providers to platforms for digital-interactions
• Participate in departmental meetings or meetings with shared-services teams to support current departmental initiatives

• Ideal for anyone interested in pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration 
• Experience with MS Office required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• This internship is from June to August and is 40 hours per week in a virtual setting 
• Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university during internship 
• Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements
