As an Analytic Consulting Advisor Intern, you will work with Nationwide business leaders and EAO associates to help design and advanced analytics solutions (e.g. AI, Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling). You will learn how to translate business questions into clear analytic objectives, help project teams evaluate potential solutions, and communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

This is a hands-on learning opportunity. You will be embedded in a project team and supported by an intern manager while contributing to a high-priority, real-world initiative. Depending on project needs, your work may touch the EAO’s Model Factory, Python, R, SQL, Tableau, AWS/SageMaker, GitHub, real-time or batch analytic products, and AI/ML or GenAI capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Partner with stakeholders to define business needs, goals, and success measures.
    • Translate business objectives into analytic questions, project scopes, and solution approaches.
    • Support project planning, meeting coordination, risk management, and follow-up.
    • Help apply analytics, modeling, AI/GenAI, experimentation, and visualization to business problems.
    • Interpret data and analytic outputs to develop clear recommendations and decision materials.
    • Create communications and deliverables for technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Support solution adoption and understand the analytic product lifecycle.
    • Demonstrate sound judgment, curiosity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Academic, project, research, internship, or other experience in analytics, data, business, project work, or technology.
    • Familiarity with tools or methods such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Excel, statistics, machine learning, or data visualization.
    • Interest in AI/GenAI, business analytics, and responsible technology, with experience collaborating and communicating across technical audiences.
    • Exposure to insurance, financial services, risk management, or another business environment is helpful but not required.

As an intern in the EAO, you’ll be part of a highly collaborative work environment and develop valuable technical and nontechnical skills beneficial to your development as a professional.
