Description
An Underwriting Intern will be responsible for supporting and working on a variety of underwriting projects and tasks. Underwriting Interns will also receive an orientation to the company and the health benefits industry while being exposed to the impact and role of underwriting at Elevance Health.
How you will make an impact:
Assist in data analysis. Educate the audience on the meaning of this data and what story it tells. Make and present recommendations based on the findings of this analysis.
Work with the Agile Resource Train (ART) to analyze, develop, and validate projects and data.
Work with the “A-Team” to help develop and implement projects to improve the underwriting function.
Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for efficiency.
Make recommendations to management related to the development of the intern program.
Make recommendations to management related to the development of the Underwriting Development Program.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the internship, desired majors include Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related degrees.
Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
Current/Graduating Seniors are preferred
Previous internship experience at Elevance Health or similar company/organization (healthcare, insurance)
Demonstrated teamwork and leadership ability as evidenced in extracurricular activities
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience in the use of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Access)
