    Reporting to the Principal, the​ Associate ​Dean​ ​of​ ​History​ ​will​ ​drive instruction and create a school culture of scholar and parent culture across grades 9-12, and manage others in History to achieve that vision. Candidates​ ​should​ ​have​ ​a​ ​deep​ ​understanding​ ​of​ ​history,

    In this role you will:

    • Set a vision for scholar culture and work with the Principal and leadership team to execute
    • Support scholar to meet the school goals (joy, homework completion, school culture, work habits, GPA
    • Observe scholars and teachers and work with the Principal and leadership team to diagnose gaps and set priorities for the HSLA History department
    • Train teachers to plan and execute a scholar management system in classrooms and the larger educational setting by working with scholar(s) involved, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders; and
    • Build relationships and meet with parents to plan for their scholar’s success.

    • Possess a deep​ ​understanding​ ​of​ ​history,​ ​preferably​ ​including​ ​an​ ​advanced​ ​degree
    • Have a ​record​ ​of​ ​success​ ​regarding​ ​exceptional​ ​student​ ​achievement
    • Have an​ ​eagerness​ ​to​ ​learn​ ​and​ ​a​ ​growth​ ​mindset
    • Have exceptionally high standards for the quality of work and a reflex to improve at every turn
    • Have an ability to build strong relationships with all constituents, thoughtfully navigate challenging situations, and get excellent results from others
