    Background & Purpose of the Job

    Unilever International (“UI”) is an alternative but complementary route to market, servicing white space opportunities not exploited by local operating countries. UI specializes in exploring white space opportunities (e.g. underserved channels and consumers) which are not reached via the regular operating country’s route to market. UI is a global business unit with headquarters located in Singapore and five global hubs (US, UK, Dubai, Korea, and India), offering a diverse range of products, as well as expertise in utilizing 3rd party distributors to reach consumers in over 80 countries.

    The primary purpose of this role is to provide finance and commercial business partnering support to the Unilever International Americas cross-functional team; with a principal focus on driving support within Brand Building and Brand Development functions. Being successful in this position will require strong working relationships across multiple cross-functional teams.

    This role will be a primary liaison to our UI Finance team in our Singapore HQ. The role will coordinate and manage inter-company P&L credits between Singapore and the Americas (NA & LATAM), as well as implement cross-cluster alignment across pricing strategy, trade spend, and marketing budgets. This role offers a great opportunity for the right candidate to gain exposure to a number of different business teams globally, and will allow them to gain both breadth and depth of experience across a range of various finance functions.

    Brand Building & Development:

    • Take lead role in building business cases, as well as modeling ad-hoc P&Ls analysis for new initiatives and strategic projects within the Unilever International workstream
    • Obtain thorough understanding of market dynamics, pricing strategy, and supply chain to form robust financial projections
    • Provide decision support to leadership team with a concise finance perspective on strength and quality of investment and pricing alternatives
    • Develop and monitor trade and marketing budgets to drive the business. Help manage resource allocation & prioritization of financial resources and investment across brands and projects
    • Conduct post-launch evaluations of business cases, to assess quality of initial assumptions, as well as performing ROI analysis across trade and marketing spend
    • Perform on-going product portfolio evaluation against topline growth and profitability targets; approach leadership team with on-going proposals where and how portfolio can be optimized
    • Deliver against ad hoc requests and projects from several cross-functional business partners, including senior leadership

    Financial Reporting & Forecasting:

    • Drive all financial elements of forecasting and reporting cycles related to Unilever International
    • Manage and coordinate the delivery of monthly and annual financial submissions along with commentary across several audiences, including leadership teams at UI Singapore HQ, as well as Unilever North America
    • Manage monthly S&OP process, working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply chain teams to build a robust bottoms-up approach to forecasting business performance
    • Develop close working relationships with the UI Finance team in Singapore, forming the primary liaison to UI Singapore in the below functions;
    • Liaise with UI Singapore on the coordination and implementation of inter-company P&L credits from Singapore to the Americas, including robust forecasting of inter-company adjustments, actuals reporting, and monthly commentary
    • Implement cross-cluster alignment across – portfolio pricing, trade spend budgeting, and marketing budgets
  • Qualifications

    What You’ll Need To Succeed

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
    • 4+ years of related financial planning and analysis experience with increasing responsibility and control
    • Ability to work independently – specifically on projects – and lead key initiatives and in a fast-paced, and constantly changing environment
    • Create robust financial business case models, and as a result of analysis formulate findings and providing a founded point of view for decision making support to the leadership team
    • Preparing forecast submissions, business results analysis and commentary
    • Commercial support and decision support, including preparing ad-hoc financial models
    • Properly managing workload, timelines and deliverables, and expectations in a highly entrepreneurial business environment – high-growth, fast-paced, performance-driven
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
    • Experience using data systems (SAP, MSBI, PBCS) preferred
