    Join a team of highly-skilled Business Intelligence professionals dedicated to ensuring the success of Indeed’s SMB business unit. Our team works directly with Strategy and SMB’s senior leadership to identify, size, and evaluate changes to our business model, and with Product Management to operationalize insights that drive AB testing and value delivery for our employer products.

    Your core focus will be to deliver high-visibility visualizations and self-serve reports that are used by Indeed’s Senior Leadership Team to track progress against company-wide goals, and conduct analysis to identify key product growth levers which impact top-line objectives and key results (OKRs) by vetting, manipulating, and automating data extracts from multiple source systems into Tableau.

    We are the experts on SMB’s data and the go-to people for disseminating consistent, actionable insights to business leaders. Our position within the company requires us to interact with technical and business leaders across Indeed, offering a hands-on understanding of how products are launched, features are tested, as well as how we think about our business model in the long-term.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop insights Indeed can use to optimize strategies and products for SMBs by building reports, dashboards, decision-optimization tools, and visualizations (using Python, Tableau, Redash)

    • Become a subject matter expert on the tools Indeed uses to move data across analytics databases

    • Ensure consistent delivery of OKR metrics to a wide audience of stakeholders by partnering with Data Eng to implement robust pipelines, evaluate internal tools for data manipulation, and partner with Product to influence analytics tool development to reflect the needs of Analytics

    • Act as a go-to knowledge resource for core SMB datasets including company segmentation, revenue, and jobs data - and which sources for each are most appropriate for a given analysis

    • Understand your business stakeholders’ objectives, the metrics that are the most important to them, and how they measure their performance

    • Turning business requirements into technical requirements

    • Finding and understanding the correct data sources for a given analysis

    • Building relationships across teams to leverage and extend existing analytical research

    • Learning from, and sharing knowledge and skills with your teammates to grow BI’s total impact to the organization

    WHO YOU ARE

    • 3+ Years of SQL. Must have the ability to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data

    • 3+ years of solid Python programming skills to cleanse, manipulate, and present data, particularly using Pandas and Numpy

    • 3+ years of Industry experience in a report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort presenting to everyone from entry-level employees to senior vice presidents

    • Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processes

    • Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences

    • Sensitivity to clients' needs and able to develop warm client relationships

    • Curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems

    • Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data

    • Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets

    • Willingness to question the validity, accuracy of data and assumptions - and make recommendations to Engineering that improve our ability to make decisions

    • Enjoyment from collaborating with others in team environment

    • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment

    • Drive to own projects and be seen as the go-to expert for a subject area

    • B.S. degree in math, statistics, computer science, or equivalent technical field

    Desired Skills

    • Experience with Tableau or equivalency to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards

    • Familiarity with online marketplace dynamics
