Position Overview:

• Intern will get an exposure to a variety of public relations related responsibilities of a public company in a fast-paced environment.
• The primary purpose of the position is to be work closely with the Corporate Communications Department on a variety of projects.
• Intern will draft press releases, research on various topics related to our business, communications, public relations and social media, post to corporate social media accounts and blog, compile data to draft presentations, provide support at company events, as well as draft, proof and edit communications.

What you will be doing:

• Intern will support the creation of internal communications and knowledge sharing resources within WEX Corporate Technology.
• Determine communications needs and draft copy.
• Help establish the internal Corporate Technology brand and support ongoing internal email communications, newsletters, and website content.
• Support internal and external Corporate Technology event planning and coordination.
• Support internal change management and business readiness communications.

Who we are looking for:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in school (our program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students).
• Candidates must have the technical skills required for the work and pass a rigorous interview process geared toward assessing creativity, innovation, and technical abilities.
• Candidates should be curious, innovative, and willing to learn.
• Candidates must demonstrate clear and concise communication, both verbal and written

Preference given to the following:

• Experience in video production.
• Knowledge of public relations, communications, and social media.
• Familiarity with graphic design programs and concepts a plus.
• Highly self-motivated individual who works equally well both independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously is critical.
• Strong background and comfort communicating on technology.
• Must be able to ensure deadlines are met and that projects proceed as planned while adhering to quality control measures and project goals.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information.
• Comfort with website management tools (such as Wordpress or Google Sites) as well as email marketing and associated tools (such as MailChimp) is also a plus.
