    The Ingredion Digital Transformation team has an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic college student to join the organization for an internship during the summer of 2021. In this role, you will evaluate different data governance models, learn to use Profisee for master data governance, and gather business rules to match and align our data. Data Governance is a form of Data Management that focuses on organizations' ability to ensure that Data Quality is excellent throughout the lifecycle of the data. The basic fundamentals of Data Governance include usability, consistency, availability, data security, and data integrity. We are looking for someone who has a strong initiative to improve status-quo and incorporate change in a dynamic work environment. We hope that this person can also demonstrate the capacity to take on problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks.

    As the Data Science Intern, your responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting the Data Governance team by assisting in establishing guidelines and procedures for Customer Master data.
    • Promote efficient, accurate records, and effective information management throughout the organization.
    • Act as a liaison between business users, data stewards, and data support teams
    • Build links with key decision-makers and internal partners
    • Visualizing and reporting insights creatively in a variety of formats to various partners

    The Data Science Intern is well suited for you if you:

    • Being a self-starter with the ability to be productive independently and are able to handle multiple projects
    • Are organized, detailed, and service oriented with a strong character and leadership style
    • Utilize technology in creative problem-solving ways to influence strategic decision-making
  • Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will have:

    • Junior / Senior Bachelor's Degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
    • A strong understanding of data needs for analysis and business performance management
    • Strong project management leadership
    • Strong interpersonal and communication/persuasion skills
    • Ability to work on a cross-functional team across distinct business units, work with and through others to achieve desired results
    • Experience with data governance and data quality management tools, such as Profisee, is a plus
    • A methodical and a detail-oriented way of thinking

    To be eligible for consideration, candidates must:

    • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
    • Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
