    THE POSITION

    This is an extremely dynamic position and a great opportunity to build your skills and career. The Email Marketing Specialist will report to the Directors of Marketing & Partner Management, while working closely with the entire Marketing, Design and Development teams.

    Specifically, the Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the following:

    The Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for email production and execution, including HTML/CSS troubleshooting and coding, QA review, and deployment of tactical email campaigns that generate new customer acquisition, improve retention, and support customer research using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This individual will collaborate with the marketing team to ensure that email initiatives are complete, on-time, and executed with a high degree of accuracy and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a unique combination of technical ability, creativity and email/online marketing experience.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Takes ownership of the day-to-day, hands-on execution of all email and push notification campaigns.
    • The development of responsive emails and/or landing pages from layered PSD files, jpgs, gifs, and copy provided in MSWord.
    • Codes dynamic content and maps variables within the campaign, to drive customization of the emails and production and launch of multiple versions.
    • With the Directors of Marketing, develops test plans across owned channels to optimize programs across the customer lifecycle and customer segments.
    • Provides regular reporting and analysis on campaign performance and results.
    • Tests email rendering for consistency across all email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) and devices (desktop, mobile, tablet).
    • Uploads relevant content and set up email campaigns within the email platform.
    • Works with internal Marketing Managers and Directors, as well as outside partner contacts, in coordinating and communicating content change requests and production schedule.
    • Meets deadlines for content publication.
    • Identifies, runs and reports email A/B testing.
    • Utilizes Persado AI platform to generate and test subject lines and email copy.
    • Stay up to date with latest email best practices, including responsive development and dynamic content.
    • Creates promotional codes.
    • Conducts experience debugging email client compatibility issues.
    • Maintains high development and production standards, as well as have the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
    • Works with partners to launch and automate email marketing campaigns

  • Qualifications

    Education/ Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, eCommerce or related field.
    • 1-3 Years of experience specifically with email campaigns.
    • Prior experience in email marketing concepts and best practices including subject lines, messaging, offers, segmentation, landing pages, list management, deliverability, contact frequency, and regulatory requirements.
    • Working knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, XML, Excel, Google Analytics.
    • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Exact Target, Persado AI platform, ReturnPath, or comparable email systems is preferred.
    • Experience making data-driven decisions using analytics, A/B testing, and campaign reports and dashboards.
    • Interest in learning and maintaining best practices for email creative, testing, optimization and abiding by the latest regulations.
    • Background in owned channel management (email, SMS, push notifications).
    • Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Positive attitude with a “can-do” attitude and a test-and-learn mindset.
    • Strong technical aptitude and/or background preferred with an eye for detail.
    • Ability to build relationships and collaborate in cross-functional teams, both internal and externally focused.
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.
    • Versatile/flexible, can manage competing demands and prioritize effectively.
    • Strong organization skills.
    • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
    • Strong work ethic, with an eye toward how you can help the business succeed in everything you do.

    • 12+ months of online marketing experience in a fast-paced environment.
