    Indeed’s Cloud Economics Team (CET) is seeking an experienced Cloud Financial Analyst who is technical, collaborative, and truly excited about solving financial mysteries. In this role, you will bring your in-depth knowledge of Cloud spending and FinOps:

    “FinOps is an evolving cloud financial management discipline and cultural practice that enables organizations to get maximum business value by helping engineering, finance, technology and business teams to collaborate on data-driven spending decisions.”

    You’ll work with the CET, the Cloud Foundation Group, and the Engineering Platforms teams as we work to modernize how we financially manage our cloud environments. 

    What are the expectations for this job?

    • You are a spreadsheet (Excel and/or Google Sheets) power-user

    • You are comfortable creating complex queries of databases

    • Understanding Cloud Usage and Cost

      • Querying and analyzing data

      • Interpreting data and solving mysteries

      • Finding patterns and trends in the analyzed data

      • Prepare reports and projections based on financial data

      • Evaluate current and previous financial data

      • Analyze and inquire about cloud budget proposals

    • Cloud Performance Tracking & Benchmarking

      • Comparing the relative performance of different teams based on cloud spend
    • Real-Time Cloud Decision Making

      • Helping teams understand their cloud use and teaching them how to leverage data to make more informed decisions
    • Cloud Rate Optimization

      • Use a variety of data analysis and organization tools to discover the most impactful insights

      • Identify trends and make recommendations to improve

    • Organizational Alignment

      • Educate our customer teams about their cloud spend and what tools they have to improve
    • Communicate well and influence colleagues

    • Ability to look at cloud spend data from a macro and micro perspective

    Who You Are

    • You are an expert at Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets

    • You have 4+ years of cloud finance experience

    • You have built financial models incorporating a variety of internal and external variables

    • You are comfortable with query languages like SQL (and/or IQL) to query, filter, sort, and pivot data

    • You have experience working with cloud tagging/labeling cost attribution systems

    • You have exceptional attention to detail

    • You are extremely strong in analytical, and problem-solving skills

    • You are a great communicator who understands that other people are only human

    • You enjoy working with a diverse group of people across multiple timezones

    • You can manage your time by juggling multiple priorities

    • You have experience working under pressure with sometimes short deadlines

    • You understand that business systems can be complex and sometimes challenging

    • You have a college degree or just a lot of real-world experience that applies to this role
