TEAM ROTATIONS: two 6-month rotations within different teams in the same office, to build knowledge across Expedia Group divisions. Contribute to meaningful work that makes a positive impact on travel, all while advancing your career

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Travel is much more than simply reaching your destination. Along the way, you'll utilize your technical skills, in our agile environment, to develop next-generation technologies through our web applications and e-commerce sites. You will make an immediate impact by crafting scalable solutions, and work with teams to iterate on features quickly and efficiently. From the back-end supply and database functions, to new user interfaces for more than 140 branded travel sites, there is no shortage of opportunity for technical innovation at Expedia Group.
Reach out proactively to meet peers across departments and collaborate to solve problems.
Take advantage of opportunities to build new technical expertise in a specific engineering area.
Seek knowledge from security domain professionals when needed.
Understand the importance of security as it pertains to system and technology integration as well as the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process.
Develop and test automation and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.
Learn to think broadly and understand how, why, and when policies/processes are standardized and when they differ across the organization.
Execute tasks and/or provide data to support implementation of holistic solutions that forge linkages between structure, people, process and technology.
Apply formal training methods to current workload.
Challenge authority/the status quo when empowered to do so.
Report clearly on current work status.
WHO YOU ARE:
Available to start on August 22nd, 2022
Graduating in 2020-2022 with a degree in a technical area (e.g. Computer Science, Math)
Industry recognized Security Certification or Equivalent Experience are a plus.
Basic operating systems administration essentials (Linux, Windows, MacOS).
Rudimentary understanding of networking (routing, switching, firewalls).
Broad knowledge security fundamentals or the desire to learn (principle of least privilege, separation of duties, baselines and system hardening, common attacks & defenses).
Relevant experience includes:
Some knowledge or experience with CICD pipeline tools (git, Jenkins, Teraform, CFN, etc.).
Some scripting and automation experience or the desire to learn (shell, Python, Golang).
Broad understanding of security and monitoring tools (IPS/IDS, WAF, FW, SIEM, EDR, FIM, SAST/DAST, DLP, DAM, CASB, etc.).
Knowledge or experience with Agile concepts is a plus.
Basic understanding of how a team’s goals fit a business need.
General understanding of competing priorities and ability to prioritize tasks for greater impact.
