Lumen's internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Marketing & Product Management Copywriting Team will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects. Interns will have th e opportunity to help us generate ideas for any upcoming campaigns, write and refine various kinds of marketing and advertising copy, practice collaborating with other professionals in other creative specialties, learn about branding and implementing a brand voice, and get an in-depth understanding of how an in-house creative and copy team operates.
The internship will take place in a Remote/Work From Home Environment and take place from June 1, 2021 - August 13, 2021. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. The Copywriting Team operates within the larger Creative Team in the Brand and Marketing department alongside designers, videographers, UX designers, project managers and in coordination with campaign, product and other strategic stakeholders. We help craft, refine and test copy, content and messaging for our website, advertising, marketing emails, paid social media, brand guidelines, videos, product assets, infographics case studies and much more.
As a team seeking next-level creative ideas and messaging for our technology brand, we're looking for someone excited by language and who has an interest in marketing and advertising, demonstrated skill or experience in a creative writing discipline and coursework or a major geared towards marketing, advertising, psychology or writing (or relevant other comparable activities demonstrating strong interest and knowledge). And because we are a fully remote team, you should also have some familiarity/openness to working with business and remote-collaboration software, including Zoom, MS Teams, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, the Adobe creative suite and other digital content or project management software.
On a given day, you might be helping brainstorm social video concepts, writing copy for a web page, joining a team call, proofreading another writer, working on a personal research project or learning about UX writing best practices.
