JOB SUMMARY

Lumen's internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Marketing and Product Management organization will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects.

The Design team is part of the Lumen Marketing Brand & Creative Group, responsible for creating and maintaining the Lumen look and feel. This includes designing and animating advertising, designing content for the lumen.com site, and the creation of data sheets, brochures, presentations and a wide range of assets and material, all while adhering to internal brand standards. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. JOB DESCRIPTION

• Learn the basics of what the team does by partnering with each member
• Work hands-on on a variety of projects, such as ad and infographic design, animation, web page layout and more
• Collaborate with other teams such as copywriting and video to create a cohesive message much greater than the sum of its parts
• Experience how work actually gets completed by experiencing kick-off meetings, reviews, changes and release
• Learn about Lumen products and solutions

• Pursing a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising or similar
• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college; junior or senior status at the start of the internship (graduating after August 2021).
• Understanding of typography, layout, color theory and composition
• Can craft and execute a vision with creativity and style individually, and as part of a team
• Comfortable on digital and print projects
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Familiarity with Adobe XD and Microsoft PPT preferred
• Must have internet access and space to work
• Must be available to work 30 - 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe.
• Curious, quick learner, reliable and ready to work hard
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Detail oriented and well-organized
• Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
• Interest in technology
• Strong online design portfolio preferred - please provide URL when applying
• Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred
• HTML/CSS, illustration, and/or animation skills are nice to have in this role
