  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY:

    Collaborates with senior formulations staff to provide support for early phase development projects or internal research. Process work will focus on small-scale solid oral dosage technologies and equipment, e.g. spray drying, blending, granulation and compression.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Working with pharmaceutical process equipment, such as balances, blenders, mills, tablet presses, extruders and spray dryers.
    • Records and reports results of experiments in accordance with prescribed procedures and systems.
    • Clearly and accurately communicates the results of work by documenting activities, data and conclusions.
    • Reviews results and works with internal team to determine reliability and conclusions.
    • Contributes to maintaining a clean and organized laboratory workspace consistent with management expectations.
    • Cleans process equipment and laboratory glassware and maintains a clean and orderly laboratory consistent with SOPs and management expectations.
    • Collaborates with internal scientific, analytical, and laboratory functional areas to meet project and team objectives.
    • Performs all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (where applicable) and Safety guidelines. Maintains the necessary compliance status required by company and facility standards.
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related physical science, and studying toward a Master's of Science degree in similar field.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Requires no previous related experience. Experience documenting experiments in lab notebooks preferred.

    COMPETENCIES:

    Good critical and logical thinking skills. Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand and walk; ability to lift and/or carry light objects of up to 25 lbs. for brief periods.
