Within the North American Client Group (“NACG”), Capital’s distribution arm, resides the Global Product Strategy & Development department and, within that, the Investment Product Management (“IPM”) team. The team’s mission is to represent our investment process, philosophy, and competitive advantages of our strategies in a compelling manner. The team partners closely with Investment Specialists (our external-facing counterpart) and sales leadership across various client segments (e.g. Wealth Management, Institutional Retirement, and the Europe and Asia Client Group).

As an IPM Summer Associate based in Los Angeles, you will partner with other experienced associates on the team in helping to support Capital’s investment product offerings. You will work with others in helping to respond to requests that come into the group’s email box, ranging from straightforward to complex and ambiguous, concerning Capital’s investment offerings and capital markets. You may join other IPM colleagues in contributing to key Capital Group initiatives where IPM is requested for investment expertise and analysis. This work may be a mix of both ad hoc and recurring inquiries, reporting and projects.

• Partnering with other IPM associates along with Specialist, Managers and Senior managers in pulling, analyzing, and interpreting key investment strategy attributes and statistics for Capital’s offerings as well as those of competitors.
• Learning and utilizing industry publications, industry databases, internal proprietary databases and additional systems and internal resources as needed to compile research (e.g., Morningstar Direct).
• Partnering with other IPM associates in resolving questions for clients and financial advisors, via our custom request inbox.
• Contribute to internal projects impacting or involving our investment solutions.
• Assist in updating business-, investment -or market-related presentations and reports for use by IPM and partner teams at various forums.

• You will be graduating with your bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related focus in May/June 2022.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• A strong interest in investments and capital markets.
• Analytical, with the ability to understand how pieces fit into the bigger picture.
• Intellectual curiosity, a sharp thinker who actively and positively contributes in a group dynamic.
• Embrace and incorporate feedback for continuous development.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) proficiency, comfortable working with large data sets.
