    The Medical Information and Knowledge Integration (MIKI) Intern will focus on searching the primary, secondary, and tertiary literature databases, exhibit critical thinking and analysis skills, and contribute insightful interpretation of the published literature and unpublished data on file. In addition, the MIKI intern will provide scientific knowledge support through various workstreams/projects in the Medical Information Department and Call Center. These projects include interpreting unsolicited medical information requests (MIRs) from health care professionals, authoring and updating Scientific Response Documents, Dossiers, Scientific Q&A documents, and other customer-facing materials. The learning objective for the PharmD candidate is to develop skills learned in the internship program to apply towards interpretation of literature and unsolicited MIRs, medical writing, and addressing scientific and communication gaps and customer needs.

    • Search and critically evaluate the published literature and unpublished data on file using MEDLINE, EMBASE, BIOSIS, IPA, Derwent (via OVID or PubMed) and company internal databases
    • Interpret Medical Information Requests (MIRs) from health care professional customers via Medical Information Center, Sales Representatives, and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs)
    • Research and author Scientific Response documents in response to frequently asked questions and/or update existing letters with newly published information on the topic
    • Present journal club and/or seminar presentations to the team on relevant topics
    • Observe & contribute to Copy Approval Committee meetings
    • Observe & contribute to Therapeutic Area Team meetings or teleconferences
  • Qualifications
    • Must be currently enrolled as a PharmD candidate in their 5th or 6th year of an accredited college/university 
    • Interest in medical writing, drug information, and communications
    • Have good verbal & communication skills 
    • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
    • Excellent written and verbal skills
    • Ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team

    Please note that most, but not all, Johnson & Johnson roles are currently virtual due to COVID-19. While locations/facilities have been aligned to our Internships and Co-Ops positions, assignments could be virtual due to the uncertainties of COVID-19. Work location is flexible if approved by the Company except that position may not be performed remotely from Colorado.
