    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Manufacturing (Mfg) Finance Data Analytics intern will be working on the development of a data lake using Microsoft Azure for analytics reporting and also working on development of standard Manufacturing cost and volume reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. He/she will be involved in the whole data pipeline operation, from data ingestion, to data management, data transformation, data analysis, data modeling and data visualization. The intern will not only be involved in the design of the data lake and dashboards, but will also communicate with key stakeholders to ensure the design of the data visualization is meeting customer needs in a consistent and sustainable way. He/she will work with experienced business managers to translate analytical insights in to business-friendly visualizations and management presentations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Work with Manufacturing Cost and Volume data to develop analytics reporting. Scope includes:

    • Build models to automate and streamline analysis to support business decision-making
    • Work with Microsoft Azure to extract and save information into a data lake
    • Apply gained experience or academic knowledge in handling large datasets, including transformation, extraction and loading in combination with Finance & Accounting knowledge
    • Build data pipelines to consolidate, organize and clean data from core financial systems
    • Create a data catalog and document data process flow details
    • Assist in producing data needed for Mfg Finance Business Intelligence and Visual analytics
    • Share results and updates in written and presentation format
    • Create automated Power BI reports, dashboards and visualization summaries for key stakeholders to easily understand and analyze results and trends
    • Collaborate and work with data engineers & data scientists and other domain experts
    • Communicate with key stakeholders in soliciting feedback and input on potential process upgrades
  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Earning Bachelor or Master Degree in Data or Computer Science, relevant Engineering, Finance or Economics
    • The ideal candidate will have some academic knowledge or experience in Microsoft Azure and/or database query language (SQL), and Power BI or similar visualization tools
    • Some technical expertise in Data Science and Python/R a plus, but not mandatory
    • The ability to think critically and consider how our output is utilized by users, which will be key to ensuring its adoption and effectiveness
    • Strong organizational skills, which are paramount to the success of this role
    • The ability to translate business requirements to technical execution. Interest in user interface (visualization).
    • MS Word, PowerPoint, and EXCEL. Ability to learn new technologies and tools
