We are searching for a Model-Based Design (MBD) Project Support Intern in Indianapolis, IN for Summer, 2021. The intern will be given tasks that support the MBD (Model-based Design) group's overall goal to develop new and optimized thermal system models for cooling products to meet Residential product qualification and market needs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with MBD and Cooling engineers to complete thermal system modeling and miscellaneous tasks to develop working system models for residential cooling products
    • Develop specific physics-based thermo-fluid dynamic system models of HVAC components and systems that are both efficient and robust
    • Assess and validate the steady-state thermal system models
    • Perform Dynamic Model Validation:
      • Collaborate with MBD, control, and test engineers to collect test data for calibrating and validating dynamic models
      • Write MATLAB scripts to process experimental data and modeling results
      • Determine the values of the critical parameters, resulting in a good match between modeling predictions with associated test data
      • Automate the process for data processing and comparison
    • Support Psychroom Turnback data/signal analysis & statistics for the Residential Digital Twin.
    • Inform stakeholders of MBD system analysis and results
    • Present analysis and recommendations
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    Pursuing Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering
