Working in F-16 Technical Order Data (TOD) team responsible for maintenance of publish system and related applications. Applicant will be required to become skilled in support of multiple publish engines which convert our Standardized General Markup Language (SGML) Technical Orders into PDFs.

This job will entail learning new pieces of software, testing updates to the software, communicating with software vendors on problems or improvements needed. Daily operations also will involve working with technical data authors on SGML tagging issues and publish issues.

Applicant may also be assisting in the maintenance of some legacy Perl, Visual Basic, and Java applications.

Applicant will be expected to eventually develop and submit software requirements, perform software product evaluations, and evaluate software product anomaly reports. Applicant will also perform some software installations for the team.

• Bachelor's degree in related technical field
• Must be a US citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Familiar with the software development process Requirements/Analysis/Testing/Installation/Maintenance/Support.
• Must have strong troubleshooting and good communication skills.
• Knowledge of XML or SGML, PERL, SQL, HTML/CSS, Visual Basic, Java, and digital publishing technologies are a plus
