Ingredion has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated student to become an Operations Lead Intern for summer 2021. You will work closely with an experienced Operations Lead as well as others on the Operations Team and will be responsible for applying concepts that focus on people skills and building trust throughout the group. Focused projects will be completed in specific areas to help optimize and streamline the jobs of the hourly workforce with a heavy emphasis on partnership and collaboration with the workforce. In addition to this, the focus will be placed on techniques to handle the hourly workforce in accordance with daily productivity, quality and safety goals as well as normal daily operational activities around production scheduling and maintenance.

As the Operations Lead Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting safety, environmental and quality initiatives, including performing and assisting in investigations & corrective actions
• Ensuring workforce compliance with all plant quality procedures and guidelines while supporting plant productivity and production
• Scheduling requirements by removing obstacles to help productively of the hourly workforce
• Identifying and execution on improvement projects that impact the group by offering new ideas with outside-the-box type thinking
• Ensuring team adaptability, flexibility and readiness to change
• Professionally leading and managing production requirements with the hourly workforce
• Participating in and leading the improvement projects

Qualified candidates will have:

• Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Management or related field
• A minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
• Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term with flexibility to experience a shift change at least 1 time
• Ability to tackle problems, identify improvement opportunities, implement action plans and follow-up to ensure results
• Experience with PC Applications such as with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven analytical problem solving, multi-tasking, and time management skills
• Assertive, creative, ambitious, and positive thinking

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must:

• Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
• Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s Degree Program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
