    YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    PREFERRED LOCATION: AUSTIN, TX; RALEIGH, NC IBM is looking for a Product Manager within the Developer Services area. This person will influence the strategy and approach we take within the Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Red Hat space. Joining IBM Cloud gives you the opportunity to:

    The ideal candidate for this role will act as an entrepreneur, strategist, technical visionary, cross-functional team leader, and client advocate. An Product Manager has two primary responsibilities: (1) defining the new offering to be built; and (2) managing its development, launch, and ongoing improvement. To fulfill these responsibilities, an AI and Data Offering Associate leads a cross-functional team. Typically, however, none of the team members report directly to the Product Manager. You will influence diverse cross-functional interactions as the market authority, acting as a "General Manager" for their business scope. The employee focuses on individual/team objectives and development of professional effectiveness. User-centered design practices are a must! My team makes heavy use of Mural, Slack, Box, Trello, Aha, MS PowerPoint, Excel to execute our team duties. Our work is Agile and driven on iterative sprints. This individual must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to adopt these and any newer technologies in the IBM corporate portfolio.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

    • Technology skills: Kubernetes, OpenShift
    • Experience using and acting as a facilitator of Enterprise Design Thinking practices.
    • Client experience: At least 3-5 years of client-related experience either in an offering role or related field.
    • Leadership: must have extensive leadership experience, leading matrix-based teams that include people from around the world (different backgrounds and cultures).
    • Conduct primary and secondary research regarding your service areas with prospects and customers. Keep a regular pulse on the market needs.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve aggressive business objectives
    • Proven ability to synthesize complex issues and opinions into simple stories
    • Attention to details, ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope business requirements
    • Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion in an iterative way
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads

    PREFERRED TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

    • Product Management: At least 2 years of PM or project development experience, responsibility for researching, developing, and managing the lifecycle of service-related offerings. The offering development bust has been executed with "client-focused" methods. Execution of IBM's Sponsor User Program is a requirement.
    • Demonstrate business leadership and technical acumen to drive a diverse offering portfolio in a cross-functional environment.
    • Self-starter with proven record to deliver client and business outcomes.
    • Deep experience in product management including development, launch and life-cycle execution for Cloud solutions operating in multiple cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, or RedHat
    • Thorough understanding of consumption-based pricing, micro-transactions, and leveraging usage metrics to drive roadmap
    • Experience with RedHat technologies
    • Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
    • Team with IBM and non-IBM technology partners as it relates to their technology being leveraged as part of IBM's As-A-Service offerings.
    • Work with local and regional Product Management leadership and sales leadership around the world to understand and track the health and adoption of services and gather feedback.
    • Responsible for the go-to-market plan and enablement, working to ensure that sales, delivery, and channel teams have what they need to be successful.
    • Support sales by enabling business development and sales teams, supporting calls with key clients, and helping to identify opportunities to increase that success.
    • Establish goals and review metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success. Drive business review on a regular cadence.
    • Research and identify new opportunities for IBM Cloud to innovate on behalf of our customers.
    • Support press and analyst activities as required.
