The Voice of Customer (VOC) team collaborates with partners across Indeed to deliver product, process, and training improvements based on the client feedback combined with internal analysis.
As a Qualitative Researcher on the Voice of Customer (VOC) team, you will plan and execute qualitative research to drive insights for cross-functional product teams informing long-term strategy. You will design and lead executive customer interviews, discussion and focus groups. You will develop the qualitative research pipeline for Indeed’s customer research community teaming with our client success, sales, product, and marketing teams. Your research will help define product development roadmaps, recommendations to address key drivers of customer satisfaction and improve business performance metrics.
An ideal candidate is passionate about research and collaboration, and able to communicate research findings in a clear and compelling way.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop qualitative interview and focus group discussion guides to better understand customer behavior, customer business challenges, customer strategy, customer pain points and customer business objectives.
Execute all phases of qualitative research, including topic selection, research design, conducting research, synthesis of insights, development of necessary graphs and visualizations, and delivery of a final presentation/report.
Conduct research among internal employees and executives, customer executives, research community members, product user groups, prospective customers, customer advisory boards and technical advisory boards
Collaborate with leaders within product, engineering, marketing, and client success to develop a pipeline of qualitative research to keep the customer research community participating and engaged on a regular cadence
Frame business questions into appropriate research questions
Use the appropriate statistical sampling methods to ensure results are representative of desired target population and meet the desired degree of confidence
Program surveys in online research community
Facilitate productive discussions among online research community members
Analyze and interpret results, write reports, and present actionable recommendations
Impact executive decision makers through excellent storytelling using clear and concise visualizations
Serve as one of VOC’s qualitative research experts to ensure our methodologies are rigorous and support our conclusions
WHO YOU ARE
Minimum of 5 years conducting qualitative research in a professional setting
Experience with customer panels or focus groups, including discussion guide development, moderation, interviewing and synthesis of insights and recommendations
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Intellectually curious with a passion for research
Have high Emotional Intelligence and are a great team player
Experience with customer/user panels or user experience testing
Comfortable using online tools and platforms to program and execute research, including pulling research data from databases and using visualization tools
Have experience with research quality control, including methods to reduce common sources of bias, identifying and eliminating poor quality responses,etc.
Experience working with stakeholders to translate business questions into research briefs
Able to communicate research results in a concise, engaging and visual way for both technical and non-technical audiences
PREFERRED:
Graduate degree in UX, market research, or a Social Sciences field such as psychology or sociology is preferred
Prior experience collaborating with User Experience (UX) teams to jointly develop quant/qual research
Prior experience managing and/or conducting research with an online research panel or community
Prior work within a top-tier consulting firm a plus
Experience with text and sentiment analysis and natural language processing (NLP), SQL, Tableau, and self-service survey products such as Qualtrics
Experience with B2B research

SALARY RANGE DISCLAIMER
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
