YOUR JOB

You work with product and engineering teams to maintain and evaluate automated tests and report problems you discover. You will have opportunities and challenges to grow your quality engineering skill-set at Indeed by assessing ETL and data quality testing and creating automated tests that verify data quality across multiple dimensions at each step of our data transformation pipeline. Use and develop new tools to effectively test products and improve Indeed's engineering processes. Your expertise will be used to help influence how your product team works on a day-to-day basis.

The Data Platforms mission is to enable every Indeedian to be data driven and support all of Indeed with tools and services related to data—from experimentation, analytics, and databases to Business Intelligence and Data Science. Automation is a vital piece in providing crucial capabilities to product development teams who strive to make quick and reliable data-driven decisions. The Modernized Data Platform Adoption program is driving adoption away from Indeed’s legacy data warehousing platform to Snowflake in order to increase speed, reliability and performance for stakeholders.

Data Platforms impacts users of analytic tools, data governance, and ecosystem management, foundational data infrastructure along with education to support Indeed in driving better decisions through data. Business Intelligence and Data Science teams working on strategic company-wide efforts are included in the organization. The team works with both on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure, and we utilize a combination of industry-standard and custom-built infrastructure solutions.

WHO YOU ARE

• BS in Computer Science or related area, or commensurate work experience

• 3+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Software Developer, or similar Automation role

• Demonstrated skills in querying relational databases in languages such as SQL

• Demonstrated programming skills in Java, Javascript, Python or related object-oriented languages

• Prior success as an individual QA Engineer embedded within a product team

• Experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, and regression testing

WE GET EXCITED ABOUT CANDIDATES WHO:

• Previous experience in data quality and ETL testing

• Have experience as a Software Design Engineer in Test or SDET

• Are comfortable with Unix commands, experience writing shell scripts

• Have experience using Git

• Understand the value derived from shipping code rapidly to production and learning/iterating on the results

• Passionate about mentorship and helping grow others

• Able to debug, analyze and work independently

SALARY RANGE DISCLAIMER

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
