    BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    This position will support our Sam’s Club team, providing proactive analysis of all available data to drive actionable insights that lead to accelerated growth.

    WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU’LL DO

    The position will require advanced skills in managing large amounts of data (Retail Link, Madrid, Nielsen/IRI, as well as being proficient in Power BI & Microsoft Office. The role is responsible for weekly analysis and reporting of sales, trends, and competitive activity, along with creating actionable insights from the analysis of these trends.

    The position will require managing multiple data feeds and analyzing that data to find the nugget of information that will enable our team to win in the marketplace. A highly analytical background along with a desire to win are key attributes needed for our candidate to succeed in this role

    YOU’RE A STORY TELLER: The position will require timely communication and in depth analytical support focused on business solutions. Reporting and managing professional presentations are necessary for the role, but the ideal candidate will effectively communicate that idea or story.

    YOU’RE A DOT CONNECTOR: The position will require the ability to retrieve and analyze many different data points from multiple sources. The ideal candidate will have the ability to connect these points quickly to understand emerging trends as they are happening.

    YOU’RE A STRATEGY GURU:

    • You love to think outside the box and imagine new possibilities for growth. The position will interact daily with multiple stakeholders on the team to drive our business and ensure goals are met.
    • Provide in depth analytical support focused on business solutions in presentation ready formats Thorough promotional analysis on all events to ensure promotional efficiency and productivity
    • Some independent work with the account, with manager guidance, on business development opportunities
    • Create sales ready presentations with analysis to be presented to the Customer, brands, and internal teams
    • Use existing data platforms to create new methodology to analyze business opportunities and risks
    • Manage our Trade deduction process through a third party team
    • Full item management responsibility (Creation and updates) on all items both in club and online
    • Collaborate with cross functional team to share findings and best practices to meet Sam’s Goals
  • Qualifications

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

    • Bachelor’s degree required (business/marketing/communications), MBA preferred
    • Minimum 1 year related experience: demonstrating knowledge of customer, data, systems and ability to analyze info and trends to make recommendations required.
    • Microsoft Office: Excel & Power Point proficiency required
    • Experience with Syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI), Wal-Mart Retail Link required
    • Customer management/service or finance background is a plus.
    • Experience with: Sales recaps, Spending/Forecasting reporting preferred
