WEX Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer 3 to work in South Portland, Maine. The Software Development Engineer 3 plans, designs, develops, and tests software applications for software enhancements and new projects. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify business opportunities and solve business problems; developing reporting and information delivery solutions; engaging directly with end customer on solution implementations; providing high level assessments of individual development efforts; designing, developing, and testing solutions for projects of small to moderate complexity; producing project related artifacts governed by corporate SDLC and ensuring development efforts conform to standards; documenting reporting specifications and contributing to the reporting specification library; conducting and participating in design, code, and test strategy reviews; collaborating with team to identify improvements and upgrades that will reduce cost, improve stability, and increase performance; and engaging with production support staff to assist in resolving chronic and/or critical production support issues. The minimum education and experience required for the position are a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or a related field and three years of previous experience with proficiency in SQR, PERL, and PL SQL.
