SREs at Indeed are embedded directly with our product teams, working closely with them to design, code, test, run, and evolve the systems that help people around the world get jobs. We’re building a new team bringing reliability, security, and privacy together. As a Security SRE, you will blend security and reliability engineering practices for a variety of products supporting Indeed’s internal information, security systems, infrastructure, and more! Simply put, as a Security SRE you will help Indeed build and operate highly reliable and secure products that help people get jobs. Are you up for the challenge?
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, ship, and motivate the creation of software and systems to increase product reliability and organizational efficiency
Guide reliability practices through the entire software development lifecycle through activities like architecture reviews, code reviews, creating platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and chaos testing
Define and enforce standards for long-term reliability to a variety of systems that manage Indeed’s security
Keep all security and privacy tooling resilient, available and at optimal performance by monitoring and alerting on symptoms
Improve service reliability through blame-aware post-incident reviews and using code to prevent or respond to problem recurrence
WHO YOU ARE
REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Experience writing code in Java, Go, Perl, Python, or a similar language
Experience in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
Strong interest in SRE topics like SLOs, resilience, scaling, performance, and more
WE GET EXCITED ABOUT ENGINEERS WHO:
Experience working with Infosec technologies (OAuth, openssl, mTLS, etc.)
Knowledge of cybersecurity tactics and techniques such as MITRE ATT&CK®
Ability to design and implement security solutions for applications and distributed systems
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, or Container Security
Have experience working on or with a globally distributed team
Apply appropriate new technologies and processes
Can provide substantial feedback on distributed system designs
Have previous experience in an SRE or Production Engineering role
Have worked with highly available multi-region website

SALARY RANGE DISCLAIMER
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
