As a Staff Software Engineer at Indeed, you will collaborate closely with the product team and use your expertise in software engineering and/or big data to solve problems in the display ads domain.You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining pipelines that support our display ads applications. You will design or implement efficient algorithms for display ads to increase recall, filter spam, improve personalization, etc., and code innovative tools to support rapid experimentation and learning. 

Responsibilities:

• Experiment and build display ad systems that help employers find the best candidates and help job seekers find their dream jobs.

• Help scale a data infrastructure for our massive sets of data to enable millions of database lookups.

• Help scale a data pipeline for real-time processing of enormous amounts of data.

• Have ownership over the things you build, help shape the product and technical vision, direction, and how we iterate.

• Work closely with the product managers and stakeholders so that they can leverage your components.

• Run numerous experiments in a fast-paced, analytical culture so you can quickly learn and adapt your work.

• Get the satisfaction of knowing that you helped connect people to that perfect job that's just right for them.

WHO YOU ARE

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related computer technical field with 5+ years experience programming with at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, Go, or C++;

  OR

• MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related computer technical field 3+ years experience programming with at least one of the following languages: Java, C++, Python, Go.

• Minimum 1 year of experience mentoring more junior Engineers

• Significant experience with large scale, high-performance systems

SALARY RANGE DISCLAIMER

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
