    US Remote 143,000 - 207,000 USD per year

    SREs at Indeed are embedded directly with our product teams, working closely with them to design, code, test, run, and evolve the systems that help people around the world get jobs. As an SRE on our JobSeeker "Aggregation" (web crawling) team, you will be responsible for the reliability of our flagship product, Indeed.com. We are the #1 Job search site in the world, serving over 250M global visitors per month. At this scale, even simple programming tasks become interesting!     How You’ll Work:

    • You’ll embed directly with your Software Engineering counterparts on the Job Seeker Team, serving as a co-owner of production services to ensure reliability and scalability

    • You will collaborate with your SWE partners to help deliver on new features and services, while sharing insights across the team to help us improve or re-architect existing systems

    • Guide reliability practices through activities like architecture reviews, code reviews, creating platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and chaos testing

    • Design, code, and operate tools and systems to reduce the time and effort needed by our engineers to scale Indeed products

    • You’ll join a “follow the sun“ on-call rotation (no overnight on-call!)

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Experience writing code in Java, Go, Perl, Python, or a similar language

    • Experience in data structures, algorithms, and software design

    • Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks

    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)

    • Strong interest in SRE topics like SLOs, resilience, scaling, performance, and more

    WE GET EXCITED ABOUT ENGINEERS WHO HAVE:

    • Experience with both on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP) in terms of deployment, support, monitoring, administration and troubleshooting

    • A passion for problem solving in a large complex system

    • Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, MySql experience

    • Experience designing, writing, and/or troubleshooting software and systems in a distributed, internet-scale Linux environment

    • Previous experience in an SRE or Production Engineering role

    • Worked with highly available multi-region website

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
