    We're passionate about surveys. We design surveys and collect survey data to understand how people vote, how people think about current affairs, how they shop for products and services, why they love the brands they do, and just about everything else you can think of. The science of survey research is also constantly evolving, and we are always exploring new techniques to improve our methods.

    What we're looking for

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Research Science, you will help build new tools designed to make valid inferences from online surveys. You have a solid command of survey methodology and survey statistics. All your classmates look to you for help debugging their R scripts. You can explain complex, technical topics clearly and simply. You are eager to take on research projects that benefit both Momentive's products and the broader survey research community.

    You will

    • Collaborate with Momentive survey scientists to conduct state-of-the-art research to advance the field of survey methodology.
    • Research different methods for calibrating non-probability survey samples.
    • Write programming scripts (in R) to calibrate survey samples.
    • Prepare technical documentation, non-technical summary reports, and research article manuscripts.

    You have

    • Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in survey methodology, data science, or quantitative social science
    • Practical experience with survey research, including survey sampling and weighting.
    • Familiarity with techniques for drawing inferences from non-probability survey samples.
    • Expertise with statistical programming in R. Familiarity with other statistical packages (SAS, Stata, SPSS) and programming languages (Python) is a bonus.
    • Solid writing and communication skills, including experience preparing reports and presentations for expert and non-technical audiences alike.
