THE OPPORTUNITY

As a System Engineer at Xactly Corporation, you'll have the opportunity to work on challenging cloud infrastructure projects.You'll need to have a passion for wanting to take a software based approach to solving infrastructure challenges and automate those solutions in this role. A strong understanding of Linux, scripting, coding, public clouds and desire to troubleshoot complex issues are keys for success in this role. And last but not least, you should have a strong background in implementing production SaaS environments and be comfortable and able to scope, plan and define architecture design requirements, driving implementation, performance tuning, maintenance and security.

THE TEAM

Xactly's Data Ops team is a rapidly growing & diversified team with a focus on working with cutting-edge tools & technologies. We are a strong team of 25+ members spread across our engineering centers in San Jose, Denver, Toronto and Bangalore. All members of the team are encouraged to operate independently and with highest levels of accountability, while also being willing to work collaboratively in training, learning and developing of new skills. The Data Ops team is dedicated to providing 24x7x365 system availability, conducting regular maintenance, release and upkeep for the infrastructure and service. Project based work which has company wide visibility and positive impact on the business is also a big part of the work that Ops-SysEng tackles.

THE SKILL SET:

• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong coding skills in in at least one of the following - Python, Javascript, Ruby, Java
• Experience with cloud computing toolsets like - Terraform, Packer, etc.
• Experience with configuration management tools - Chef, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with public clouds - OCI or AWS
• Experience and knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, cloud computing
• Sysadmin level experience with a demonstrated knowledge of OS lifecycle management and the ability to solve complex OS upgrades - CentOS, OEL, RedHat
• Strongly versed across a variety of hardware and software manufacturers with a high degree of comfort in mixed vendor environments. These include but are not limited to Cisco UCS, Pure Storage, VMWare, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Harness,
• Experience with any of the following virtualization technologies VMWare, KVM or Xen
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Nginx, Tomcat, HAProxy, Bind, NTP, DNS, SMTP
• Knowledge and the desire to automate manual tasks encountered in Xactly's compute infrastructure, configuration management and applications
• Knowledge of Git, Jira
• Are detail oriented, have the ability to build reliable and scalable solutions
• Are able to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
• You're self-driven, motivated, with a strong work ethic and passion for problem solving and are comfortable with context switching
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Bachelors/Masters degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred

Pay range: $67,000-84,000 + Semi-annual bonus Final pay determinations, salary ranges and pay increases are established by the employer. The ranges are an estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. They are based upon a combination of local industry benchmarks, budget, experience, and internal comparisons. Salary ranges allow for growth opportunities as the employee develops new skills, and/or hones current skills.
