    Background & Purpose of the Job

    The Transportation Planner has ownership of all physical distribution needs into and out of Unilever sites. Team commitment, on-going business engagement and breakthrough thinking will be required to evaluate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in an effort to identify optimal order and recommend distribution solutions that are within strategy. This individual will monitor and execute the tendering strategy, order consolidation, exception management and transportation capacity planning. The individual will be the primary Transportation point of contact for Procurement, Manufacturing and Material/Customer Planning. This role is also responsible for the analysis and improvement of on-time shipments, primary acceptance and transportation OTIF loss to the organization. The role will also have project management responsibility including but not limited to; OTM capability development, transportation process design, ZBB (zero based budget) funnel management, sourcing strategy input and cross functional continuous improvement.

    To achieve success, it is necessary to deliver through teams and utilize internal resources for long-term resolution. Additionally, trailer pools will be collaboratively managed with shipping facilities and carriers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery. Reviewing, maintaining and potentially reducing targeted freight budget goals through analysis is essential for continuous growth.

You are highly organized, able to multitask and communicate with various touchpoints while maintaining team commitment.

    You’re a dot connector: You will interact and build positive relationships with internal departments and external partners (Procurement, SC Planning, Customer Service, Warehousing, Manufacturing plants, Co-Packers, SC Capabilities, Logistics Procurement, Logistics Operations, 3PM Logistics and Carriers) to achieve business and customer service goals via daily reviews of pending offers to carriers, resolving load planning, tendering, acceptance, trailer pool health, LOD and delivery exceptions in SAP.

    You’re a changemaker: You will collaboratively work with internal and external customers to measure performance and improve the KPIs on many reports and processes. You will demonstrate strong bias for action and drive accountability to quickly action business continuity plans and/or deviations from best practice and identify and execute efficiency opportunities; either through driving savings or making recommendations for better ways of working.     You’re a paradox navigator: You will identify critical issues and escalate appropriately, assemble opportunities and engage appropriate decision makers to continuously resolve SAP Workflow IDOC errors, incl. ROI/TMS business workplace errors. You will utilize your highly analytical skills using MS-Excel, SAP and Power BI.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    Bachelor’s degree required. 3+ years’ work experience with a clear competence in Logistics and Supply Chain. Strong understanding of order to cash process, deployment, warehousing and transportation. Must have in depth working knowledge with numerous systems including: SAP, OTM, Excel, LBC, CASSPORT, Power BI, Tableau and Access. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
