    YOUR JOB

    As a UX Researcher with the Engineering Platform team, you will collaborate with cross-functional team members to create a usable and efficient experience that helps our internal engineering team write, test, and deploy code. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of software development processes and terminology and perhaps even experience writing and deploying code in a production environment. Candidates should have a very good grasp of qualitative and quantitative research methods and experience interviewing software engineers about very technical topics. 

    What will you do?

    • Work directly with a senior researcher, designers, product managers, content designers, and engineers to understand internal user needs and communicate those needs to the team

    • Incorporate data from qualitative user research, data science, and a/b testing to explore and explain user needs

    • Present research findings clearly to the team and work with designers to find solutions to problems

    • Collaborate with other teams within the organization to understand needs across many organizations

    • Become extremely familiar with details of things like engineering deployment tools, microservices, APIs, security requirements, and development environments

    WHO YOU ARE

    • 3+ years conducting user research for software/web based products with demonstrated business impact on the products you worked on.

    • Demonstrated discernment and ability to do the right research for the task at hand. We balance speed with the value we provide. We are looking for candidates who have a varied selection of tools in their research toolkit and know which tool to utilize for the task at hand.

    • Proactively and closely collaborates with stakeholders to shape and scope research plans that will meet the needs of the project team.

    • Strong analytical and synthesis skills with a proven ability to turn research results into product insights.

    • Great written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a range of audiences.

    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to execute several small projects concurrently.

    • Flexible approach to research. Our goal is to provide product teams value. If an existing research method doesn’t do that, we invent our own research methods.

    • Experience with remote testing tools.

    You should have at least ONE of following qualifications:

    • 1+ years of working as a software engineer, qa test engineer, data scientist, or similar 

    • Experience researching tools that are used by software engineers or network administrators to do their jobs

    The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
