    This position in the Digital Platform team contributes to the tools we build to get insights into the product usage by customers. This position offers an opportunity to learn a broad range of new skills, technology and processes. We practice Agile methodologies, create sustainable schedules, and our cross-functional teams build strong, collaborative relationships as partners.

    You will be working with a fast-paced team and with new technologies. We prefer someone who is a good learner and collaborates well with others. In turn, you will have the opportunity to build a product that will benefit not only our Digital Platform Team but will have company-wide impact.

    You will collaborate as a key stakeholder in the definition, creation and validation of our products and tools. The ideal candidate is comfortable in an agile environment and loves working closely with the team so that the tools we build are seamlessly integrated into our overall development process.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Gathers and analyzes requirements 
    • Design and build the solutions
    • Influence the direction of Starbucks Technology and architecture by contributing innovative ideas regularly
    • Own the creation and reporting of key metrics for your projects
    • Production deployment of tools when needed
    • Support the tools and increase adoption within the organization
  • Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary): 

    • 1-4 years of professional industry experience with software development
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Skills (minimum skills required): 

    • 3+ years of experience with web and mobile development in hybrid and native environments
    • 3+ years of engineering experience with React.js, React Native, Node.js, and other JavaScript frameworks
    • Strong experience in frontend programming languages CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript ES6
    • Experience in NPM, Webpack
    • Experience with developing in continuous integration environment
    • Familiar with one or more database technologies
    • Experience in application performance profiling, tuning, and debugging
    • Experience in leading and driving automated UI unit test and code coverage
    • Experience with working on various platforms including Linux/Unix
    • Knowledge and experience in SDLC including SCRUM agile processes
    • Self-driven, proactive, demonstrates initiative, and strong problem solver
    • Ability to accurately estimate design and development timelines for application components 
    • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication and the ability to collaborate and work well with others
