    Job Summary and Mission

    This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing transportation expertise, project management, analytical and influencing skills to support the transportation team in developing innovative, cost-effective and scalable systems that facilitate global growth and generate store and customer value. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assesses financial and operational impact of business initiatives. Recommends transportation solutions outlining assumptions, analysis and risks.

    • Acts as first-line support resource for domestic and international transportation management systems users

    • Develops project plans that define scope, schedule, budget and business impact and risks. Executes plans and identifies issues or obstacles, gains alignment and brings to resolution.

    • Implements transportation processes and foundational systems that improve service or efficiency, increase capacity and reduce costs. Develops transportation models that drive business decisions for global market growth and capacity requirements. Designs and implements transportation performance metrics. Tracks performance and identifies improvement opportunities.

    Summary of Experience

    • Performance metrics development and root cause analysis (3 years)
    • Structured Query Language access to relational databases (2 years)
    • Project management (3 years)
    • Transportation and distribution operations (3 years)
    • Transportation carrier negotiations support (3 years)
    • Transportation system implementation and configuration (3 years)

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to work independently

    • Strong coaching and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage time effectively
