Fixed Income - Fundamental Research Associate (High - Yield)

As one of our FRG Associates, you will work closely and collaborate with Fixed Income Investment Professionals and peers to deliver valuable insights, research data, and analysis that will be used to help inform investment decisions. Daily responsibilities include financial modeling, researching companies and related industries, analyzing capital structures and bond covenants, facilitating meetings with management teams, sell-side firms and industry specialists, relative value comparison, and working as a partner in the high-yield investment process. You will work on projects and tasks with growing complexity, seeking direction and guidance from senior leaders as appropriate. You can self-direct and take an interest in professional development, attending trainings and conferences, and identifying skills needed to strengthen your financial acumen, technical capabilities, and research fundamentals.

· You have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, STEM or a relevant field of study.
· You're passionate about a career in fixed income with a strong interest in high-yield corporate credit.
· You have at least 2+ years of experience in fixed income or credit research (experience covering corporate credit; high yield credit is preferred
· You have a strong desire to continue to develop bottom-up fundamental credit research skills working in partnership with experienced investment professionals.
· You have extensive experience with financial modeling and fundamental credit analysis, working with sells-side firms and industry consultants, Bloomberg, utilizing research tools, trade publications, online sources, regulatory filings, etc., and interpreting this information to effectively tell a story.
· You thrive in team settings. You ask good questions, bounce ideas off others and proactively share your perspective.
· You enjoy learning new things and can flex to varying work styles and expectations.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $125,329-$200,526
New York Base Salary Range: $132,855-$212,568
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
