Capital Group seeks bright, highly motivated and self-directed individuals for an Investment Analyst - US Rates opportunity to join Capital Fixed Income Investors (CFII) division and be based in either our West Los Angeles or New York office. CFII invests broadly across the global fixed income markets and has assets in excess of $500 billion under management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct financial and macro analysis (incorporating banking system activity, economic research and monetary policy trends) necessary to develop views on US governmental bonds and similar instruments (including swaps, futures, options and other derivatives that can express views on the direction of US interest rates); coverage could possibly expand to other developed government bond markets

• Make investment recommendations to portfolio managers and manage a portfolio of securities drawn from your sector coverage

• Maintain contact with relevant industry participants and policy makers

• Produce, as necessary, written reports and regular updates

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Superior research skills and the drive to develop investment insight from multiple angles, including the potential ability to develop and/or utilize proprietary valuation models

• Superb market knowledge

• Excellent communication skills, including strong written and oral presentation capabilities

• Ability to work proactively and creatively in a team environment

• A track record of effectiveness

EXPERIENCE:

• The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of industry experience, which may include buyside, sell side or governmental/consultant exposure

• MBA and/or CFA desired but not required
