    The Quantitative Research and Analytics (QRA) Summer Associate will spend 12 weeks engaged in a customized research project to address a complex investment issue through the scientific process. You will conduct rigorous research and analysis, leveraging market, financial and economic data to support Capital Group’s investment decision-making process. You’ll scope and solve a business problem using appropriate quantitative methodologies and present your work to leadership and various teams. You will learn new models, tools, techniques and processes, and identify and communicate potential applications. You will play a role in evolving the development of quantitative research and analysis at CG and gain a deeper understanding of the investment process.

  • Qualifications

    • You’re currently pursuing a graduate degree (PhD preferred) in a mathematically robust discipline (applied mathematics, economics, statistics, physics, etc).
    • You have strong working knowledge of computing tools such as Python, R, Julia, Matlab, or comparable languages.
    • You have an understanding of quantitative problem-solving frameworks and methodologies.
    • You have an interest in learning about global markets and applying technical methods to solve problems.
    • You are intellectually curious, analytical and a strong problem solver.
    • You have excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and can effectively interact with a diverse group of associates.
    • You collaborate well, proactively sharing your perspective, asking questions and bouncing ideas off others.
    • You’ve effectively used your resources and critical thinking skills to navigate ambiguous situations and connect the dots.
    • You can work independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment.
