    Position The Relationship Associate role is a key sales position responsible for driving revenue growth within new distribution channels for Polen.  This sales leader will own responsibility for growing overall 1940 Act Mutual Fund sales, with particular focus on our large, independent Broker-Dealer partners.  Successful candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive and will be integrated into one of our high-performing sales teams as a trusted and critical partner.  Strategies for growing revenue fundamentally rely on a candidate's proactive approach, laser-focus on the needs of their business partners and client relationships, and an ability to stay focused on the bottom line of revenue growth and asset retention.  This position is an "on ramp" to an attractive career in asset management distribution.

    Responsibilities

    • Proactive sales outreach to successful financial advisors via outbound call and e-mail efforts 
    • Comfort with phone and e-mail tools and a commitment to high activity is critical, as these are our primary methods of establishing contact and building new relationships with prospects
    • Travel as appropriate to deepen relationships with these prospects, which will ramp up in direct relation to the amount of success this candidate has initiating new relationships via proactive call and e-mail activity
    • Conviction in the value of data analytics to segment prospects by success likelihood
    • Comfortable selecting top priority prospects from data such as total Mutual Fund AUM in target asset classes, distribution platforms, competitive performance, and fee metrics
    • Proactive in asking for access to any additional resources and data sets that would be helpful in driving these efforts
    • Commitment to partnership:  sales is a team sport, and the internal wholesaler is at the heart of a high functioning sales team, helping align everyone to the team's highest-value efforts
    • Build strong relationships with partners across the firm - including marketing, data analytics, and the investing teams
    • Focus on the bottom line:  success will be measured primarily on revenue growth and asset retention in targeted products, with targeted financial advisors
    • Represent Polen Capital with integrity and model Firm values and professional standards

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Prior success in a position of sales responsibility, particularly within Financial Services
    • FINRA S7 and S66 licenses, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
    • Demonstrated interest in capital markets, with progress towards advanced industry certifications
    • Strong presence, confidence, and ability to gain immediate credibility as a capable sales leader
    • Highly developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Able to analyze business situations, synthesize detailed information, identify key priorities, and allocate time effectively
    • Assertive and execution-oriented with the ability to manage effectively through ambiguity and competing priorities
    • Expert verbal and written communication skills with the ability to impact and successfully persuade others
    • Results-oriented with the ability to deliver within a fast-paced, execution-oriented environment
    • Ability to embrace and contribute to a cohesive team environment
